About Us

So you noticed that your child loves art. Maybe they draw a lot at home, or their teacher tells you that they love doing art in school.

As a parent, you want your kids to pursue their passions and develop their skills to set them up for success. So, of course, you start looking for a great art enrichment program! You want to make sure that your child is going to learn the skills needed to reach their artistic potential, while having enough space in each lesson to express their own creativity.

You want them to be with a qualified art instructor who “gets it” and who understands and appreciates their out-of-the-box thinking.

If this sounds like you, then you are in the right place!

Read on to learn more about us and our teaching philosophy.

About The Founder

Michelle Sherman is a passionate artist and art teacher. She’s been an artist her entire life – ever since her mom realized that she loved to draw and paint when she was two years old. She eventually studied art seriously at Bak MSOA and Dreyfoos School of the Arts. After that, she went off to Philadelphia to study oil painting and other forms of “academic art” like figure drawing and printmaking. Michelle later went on to receive her M.A. in Art Education from the University of Florida. She is a certified K-12 art teacher with 12+ years of experience teaching in elementary and middle schools. Most of that time was spent teaching visual arts in Bak Middle School of the Arts, her old stomping grounds!

Now she is an author and the founder of I Heard You Can Draw, LLC, an art studio for kids of all ages and adults in her native Boca Raton. This studio is a place where anyone can learn how to draw, paint, collage, and make prints in a supportive environment. Michelle believes that each lesson should allow students to develop the proper techniques while letting their creativity shine through. Art history is usually incorporated into the lessons as well, as we should not work in a “vacuum”.

This studio is for kids and adults who love to learn, be creative and try new things. Art classes help us to learn about the world around us and about ourselves as well. It is the perfect enrichment class for kids and a wonderful new skill for adults to try.
